It all started when Monika and Natasha, the mother and daughter co-founders decided they couldn't find a central space for bold women to share their stories with the world. We mean the real, raw, uncensored, inspiring - make you laugh and cry - stories. So they decided to find a way to dig deeper, connect, and elevate women from around the world It's been said that storytelling is the vehicle by which humanity is woven together.
That's the powerful space they created with The Fem Word. Her experience lies in the music industry, where she worked for a boutique publishing company; and was the Creative Director at XIX Entertainment. Natasha served as the writer and editor of the award-winning film 'Bee the Future', and was the creative manager for 'Girl Rising' and 'SOLD' social media and national red carpet events.
Emily Sinclair Montague is an author, freelance writer, and experienced editor from the Washington, DC area. She is the owner of her own freelance writing and editing business, Words of a Feather, and is the author of The Jewel Chronicles under her pen name, E. She is incredibly grateful to be a part of The Fem Word family, and enjoys every second of her work with Monika and the rest of the team.
They are a graduate student in the History department at Virginia Commonwealth University and a freelance editor of any and all content that comes their way. They enjoy being a part of The Fem Word team because they are constantly learning through the work of their fellow staff members. They are blown away by the amazing work each member brings to the platform.
They live with their spouse and a veritable zoo of animals in rural North Carolina. Adele Whipps is a freelance writer and a supervisor at a family-owned vineyard in Poolesville, Maryland. Her passions not only include writing and wine, but cooking, hiking, and memorizing song lyrics and movie quotes. Meera was actively involved in fundraising for the girls education nonprofit, Girl Rising, and as a youth ambassador for 'Sahasra Deepika' school for underprivileged girls in India, she raised funds to build an athletic court at the school.
